In the 2023 Best & Worst States to Raise a Family, WalletHub ranked Illinois 13th overall based on 51 metrics. Illinois beat fellow Midwest states Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, as well as California, Texas, and Florida. Some of the metrics include median family income, family fun, and affordability.
