Rockford rated 18th best city in U.S. for teachers

ROCKFORD, May 20 — GoodCall, an online organization devoted to giving consumers access to information they need to make educated financial decisions, has ranked Rockford as the 18th best city for teachers to live and work.

There are several reasons why Rockford was ranked the 18th best city in the U.S. for teachers of all levels:

          * Higher-than-average teacher salaries (Rockford’s average is $65,950 while the national average sits at $56,383)
          * Strong educational values in the region
          * Low cost of living both inside and outside of the city
          * A robust and stable job market for teachers
