Rock Valley College celebrates 2015 Engineers Week


Engineers Week 2015

ROCKFORD — Rock Valley College is hosting several events to celebrate Engineers Week 2015 (Feb. 22-28). The events are meant to get students and the local community excited about engineering, technology and manufacturing.

With Rockford being a largely manufacturing city, this is a great way to celebrate an important aspect of our community. Local businesses will be at these events to encourage young people to consider critical thinking and creative careers in engineering and engineering technology.

Below are the events being offered:

          • Discover Engineering Event at Discovery Center Museum
               Saturday, Feb. 21, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
          • RVC’s Engineering, Technology, and Manufacturing Open House (flyer)
               Tuesday, Feb. 24, 5 to 7 p.m.
          • Renewable Energy & Micro-Grids for Sustainable Buildings
               Thursday, Feb. 26, 6 to 8:30 p.m.
          • High School Bridge Building Competition
               Friday, Feb. 27, 8 to 11 a.m.
