“With an early Easter this year, holiday travelers flew in March which meant 11 percent fewer available seats in April. Despite that challenge, we were able to post a top-ten month all-time high at RFD.” said RFD Director Mike Dunn. He continued, “RFD’s passenger numbers show an ability to fill the available seats every month and give proof to airlines that we need more capacity.”
The 2013 spring break months of March and April eclipsed those two months last year for the busiest two-month stretch RFD has ever seen.
Year-to-Date the airport has had 92,337 passengers fly in and out. Overall flights year-to-date have flown 89 percent full.
RFD is served by three airlines; Allegiant, Apple Vacations and Frontier. RFD currently has flights to nine non-stop destinations including Cancun, Denver, Ft. Myers, Las Vegas, Montego Bay, Orlando, Phoenix, Punta Cana and Tampa Bay. For more information on all flights, visit FlyRFD.com.
