The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois Announces Scholarship Recipients
Thanks to the generosity of local donors and the hard work of scholarship reviewers, the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois has recently finished its 2018-2019 scholarship season, making 156 awards worth $263,880 to local students. Since 2000, CFNIL has awarded over $3,000,000 to local students pursuing post-secondary education.
Rock Valley College Aviation Maintenance Team Competes Nationally
The Rock Valley College Aviation Maintenance Team recently participated in the Aerospace Maintenance Competition (AMC) held in Atlanta during the first week of April. “The AMC was a life-altering experience,” said team captain Imran Zaveri. “It gave me industry contacts, new friends, and a platform to exhibit and practice the skills I have learned in school.”
NIU Supermilage Team Places First
We are very proud to announce that the Northern Illinois University Supermileage Team has placed 1st out of 27 competitors at the Shell Eco-marathon!!

ABOUT THE RAEDC
The role of the Rockford Area Economic Development Council (RAEDC) is to collaborate with regional stakeholders to cultivate opportunities for primary job growth that increase the economic well-being of our region. The RAEDC markets the region to attract new capital investment, while assisting existing business with resources for sustainable growth. The RAEDC works closely with many partners to improve the competitiveness of the region by taking what it learns from the region’s employers and engaging the community in the daily work of economic development. As the economic development organization for the region, the RAEDC also serves as the area’s data collection agency on all new capital investment, retained and created quality jobs, and renovated commercial/industrial space.
