ROCKFORD, June 9 — Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) announced today that it will partner with Elite Airways to provide direct, round-trip service to Fort Collins – Loveland Municipal Airport (FNL) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

The addition of this service allows RFD to expand its reach to the Denver area as well as New York for both business and leisure travelers.

Located on the New Jersey Turnpike, Newark Liberty Airport is a short 18 miles from Manhattan and many other exciting New York City destinations.

Fort Collins – Loveland Municipal Airport is located only 52 miles from Denver, Colo.

Flights will run on Monday, Thursday and Friday and will be available for purchase starting at the end of this week.

“We continuously explore options to provide service to top destinations for our travelers and New York and Denver certainly align with those goals. Our extensive research has confirmed the need and based on anticipated engagement success, we are excited to offer these services to our customers at RFD,” said Mike Dunn, Executive Director.

Flights will begin servicing Rockford customers in late August with competitive fares including free baggage, seat assignments, Wi-Fi in the terminal and parking.

“When looking at our aircraft availability and potential markets, RFD consistently stood out as a viable market. We are pleased to offer RFD an opportunity to continue its tradition of valued service to its passengers,” said John Pearsall, CEO and President of Elite Airways.

Elite Airways was founded in 2006 by airline veterans looking to provide a better travel experience for its passengers. Elite Airways is a U.S. Part 121 Air Carrier and provides charter service throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, and South America.

RFD is served by three airlines: Allegiant, Apple Vacations and Elite. RFD serves ten non-stop destinations including Cancun, Ft. Myers, Las Vegas, New York/Newark, Denver/Ft. Collins, Orlando, Phoenix, Puerto Vallarta, Punta Cana and Tampa Bay. RFD was named the 2013 Primary Airport of the Year by the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Division of Aeronautics.
