ROCKFORD, Feb. 4 — New Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner gave his first State of the State speech today.

In a local reaction story, the Rockford Register Star quoted the RAEDC’s Carrie Zethmayr, executive director of trade and investment, as saying the governor’s emphasis on job growth and competitiveness with border states is “very much aligned with our own goals.”

Rauner’s vision will “help create new narratives in Illinois and about Rockford that sets us up to win economically,” she said.
