September 12, 2014

ROCKFORD, IL – On Wednesday, October 29, the I-39 Logistics Corridor Association will kick off the holiday season when it hosts its “Festivus 2014” event between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the HofbrÀuhaus Chicago restaurant in Rosemont, IL, announced Carrie Zethmayr, Executive Director of the Rockford, IL-based association.

“The purpose of Festivus is to promote existing, new and planned development projects within the I-39 Logistics Corridor,” said Zethmayr.  “In past years, more than 300 brokers attended Festivus, which increased our visibility and positioned our land owners, economic development representatives and developers to see a lot of deals.  Last year alone, the corridor has placed over 5,825,000 SF of new industrial space under development, representing an investment of nearly $290,000,000,” she added.  A number of national, regional and local developers are investing in industrial parks in the I-39 Logistics Corridor, reinforcing the strategic location of I-39 as being the focal point of logistics activity for the Midwest as well as the global economies.

The following organizations are sponsoring “Festivus 2014”: Cushman & Wakefield of Illinois, Inc.; DeKalb County Economic Development Corporation; Dolan &Murphy, Inc.; Greater Rochelle Economic Development Corporation; JLL; Northern Illinois Development Alliance; Rock County Economic Development Alliance; Rockford Area Economic Development Council; and Venture One Real Estate.

The corridor encompasses an area about 50 miles west of downtown Chicago, covering approximately 10,000 square miles and spanning the distance from Janesville, WI, to Bloomington, IL, with I-39 as its spine.  It includes Rock County in Wisconsin and all or portions of Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson, Whiteside, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, LaSalle, Bureau, Marshall, Livingston, Woodford, and McLean counties in Illinois.
