3M DeKalb is located in the heart of the transportation hub of North America. Just 60 miles west of Chicago, logistics is one of the largest industries in the area. The area offers a large number of options for skilled warehouse and administrative talent, and 3M employees have among the highest seniority in the industry. Having the opportunity to work in the area, we have a focused effort on benchmarking with area industry. We learn from other companies and share our learning with them.
In 2015, we became certified by the Warehouse Education and Research Council (WERC). This certification is in addition to our certifications in our quality management system for Aerospace and Transportation Industry, AS9100 and TS16949, as well as ISO9001.
In 2016, opened our new DK6 facility which will leverage disruptive technologies to enable us to service our customers even more effectively. Our employees are continuously improving our processes and our results to enhance our brand as a company and in our community. Every team member is involved in process improvement every day through our Lean Management System. We celebrate successes as a team and solve problems as a team.
