Carlson Capitol is located in Rockford, Illinois and was founded in 1945 under the name of Capitol Tool & Die Works, Inc. In 1981, Capitol Tool & Die purchased the assets of W.G. Carlson & Sons. The lid support product line came with the purchase of W.G. Carlson. Our name was then changed to DBA Carlson Capitol Manufacturing Company.
Carlson Capitol lid supports are approved by the US Consumer Products Safety Commission. Carlson Capitol is a tool and die, and metal stampings manufacturer. Besides producing metal stampings for a variety of customers, our lid support is our product line. Because the lid support is our only product line, we have been able to customized our products. We have different brackets, cams, rivets, slides, plating.
