Rockford Park District, Reclaiming First Initiative, expanding in Rockford with Sports facility

Phase One of Reclaiming First, which will expand Sportscore Two and the Indoor Sports Center in Loves Park, began with construction in August 2014. Work on that $31 million project is expected to be completed in 2016, as is Phase Two, a $21 million remodeling of the former Ingersoll building in downtown Rockford into an indoor sports park. The effort could lead to more than 200 construction jobs and more than 200 permanent full-time positions.
