Chemring Energetic Devices is an established engineering and manufacturing company that provides components and solutions for the aerospace and defense industries. Our multi-facility site totaling 61,000 square feet is 25 miles west of Chicago in Downers Grove, Illinois.
Today, we manufacture over 700 unique electromechanical, pneumatic and pyrotechnic components, cutters, valves, actuators, separation bolts/nuts, initiators, and electronic test equipment. These items are used for military escape systems, missiles, satellites, and launch vehicles. With 50 years of expertise behind us, we excel at designing and manufacturing increasingly complex components to meet customer requirements.
CED also maintains a remote facility for pyrotechnic blending, special tests, and energetic material storage on its 12 acre site in Santa Clarita, CA. The company is in the process of adding similar capabilities in the Downers Grove, IL facility. With internal CNC machining capacity and a complete environmental test lab, including shock and vibration capabilities, CED can provide a complete solution to most military, space, or commercial pyrotechnic needs. We are a fully certified J-STD facility compliant for production of electronics components such as aircrew test equipment and safe and arm systems used on PAC 3 and the QF-16.
