Learn the basics of government contracting! This workshop, led by Rita Haake, is great for businesses that have done nothing with the government to those that need a refresher on what they should be doing. We will discuss our free bid lead/bid matching system, how to register as a vendor (at all governmental levels- SAM, IPG, etc.), discover small business certifications that can help you succeed, and discuss subcontracting opportunities as well.

Ms. Haake has been the Director of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) since October 1997. Her primary responsibilities include day-to-day operations of the center and has spent the last 25 + years advising clients on local, state and federal government contracting including GSA Schedules, certifications assistance, assistance in proposal creation, contract analysis and contract administration.

Ms. Haake is certified as a Contract Procurement Professional (CPP) and Contracting Assistance Specialist (CCAS) in addition she is recognized as a US VA Verification Certification Counselor and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Northwood University, Michigan. She is a member of many professional organizations and has been actively involved in leadership within many of those organizations. Associations include National Contract Management Association (NCMA), North Central Regional Council (NCRC), Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Center (APTAC), Midwest Small Business Liaison Officer Group and the Illinois Entrepreneurial and Small Business Growth Association (IESBGA).
