NIU-Rockford, 8500 E. State St., Rockford, IL
During April’s Meetup, we will introduce you to the latest tools which are being utilized to reverse engineer parts. There will be presentations on both a handheld 3D laser scanner and scanning software. Also, we’ll also demonstrate the capabilities of reverse engineering software. This software converts STL files, which are exported by the laser scanner, into a fully functional 3D CAD model complete with a feature tree. This type of file allows an engineer to make design improvements and print or manufacture a part.
Computer Aided Technology (CATI) will join us as a co-presenter. Since 1992, CATI has made it their mission to curate, deliver and support the best product development solutions available.
Cost: $10, includes networking, food, and drink
