The aerospace industry is absorbing the impacts of several macro trends that are all influencing the different industry segments in their own way, including the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and an evolving geopolitical world order. In this presentation, Mike Stengel will dissect the salient issues for the air transport, military, and business aviation segments of the industry and opine on the near, medium, and long-term outlooks for aircraft production and MRO demand as well as the implications for industry stakeholders.

 NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) is unique within the community of NASA centers as it focuses on research and development in the areas of both Aeronautics and Space Exploration.   NASA Glenn’s core competencies and unique testing capabilities will be described.  Whether you are a student, professor, or employed in private industry, NASA has opportunities for you to explore as we increasingly rely on our partners to help meet our mission goals.  These opportunities will be briefly reviewed.  Beyond supporting NASA’s mission goals, NASA also seeks to license our patented technologies to others to create jobs and boost the national economy by creating new products for terrestrial commercial markets.  In the Technology Transfer Office, our goal is to help explain how to find and mine NASA’s patented technologies, obtain a license for these technologies, and build or expand businesses within the Unites States to create economic growth.

The panel discussion will include decision makers from the procurement organizations at Collins Aerospace, GE, Woodward, and other primes. In addition, they will discuss the requirements for becoming a supplier to their companies or, if you are already a supplier, to expand your book of business. Conference attendees will be able to hear about the similarities and differences between these companies and will be afforded the opportunity to engage directly with panel members with pertinent questions.

The aviation industry has committed to net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Many paths will be needed to achieve that goal, but right here in Rockford, Collins Aerospace is doing our part through aircraft electrification. This talk will discuss some of the latest industry trends in this area, as well as the technologies, programs, and demonstrations underway to make this vision a reality.

It’s increasingly common to have up to five different generations working together. From Baby Boomers to Generation Z, each generation brings a unique set of skills and perspectives. As employers, we are tasked with finding ways to engage all generations of employees on their employee journey.
