Why Economic Development Matters: Creating Connections

One of the best ways to develop, expand, and create a sustainable company is to develop and maintain connections. The Rockford Area Economic Development Council (RAEDC) creates these connections for companies in many ways.

RAEDC has experience in facilitating connections between companies as well as between companies and resources. There are different ways to get the assistance your company may need. RAEDC can do a business retention visit where we discuss the company’s current location, expansion plans, additional services and product plans, and talk about possible tax credits based on your location that may be applicable.

Events such as the Midwest Aerospace Conference have matchmaking sessions built into the program to connect peer-to-peer or supplier-to-prime companies. This is a great way for qualified but smaller companies to develop a relationship with larger organizations.

RAEDC continuously works with partners to ensure our region has the skilled workforce needed for jobs that are good today and tomorrow and that the companies in need have the opportunities to shape the training and skill development programs that will allow them to continue to grow and flourish within our region.

The region with the best workforce development and lifelong learning mentality is the region that will attract and retain businesses. By working together this community is demonstrating our commitment to being a great place for businesses, employees, and residents.
