Arachnid 360 Named 2022 SBA Illinois Small Business Exporter of the Year
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Illinois District Office 2022 Small Business Exporter of the Year is awarded to Samuel Zammuto, President of Arachnid 360 located in Loves Park, Illinois.
Sam, a native of Rockford Illinois, has over 4 decades of experience in the dart industry. Starting from humble beginnings, Sam was overseas in the United States Air Force when he was first introduced to the game of darts in the United Kingdom. Smitten by this sport, he started traveling throughout England to play competitively. Upon his return to the United States in the 1980’s, Sam fell in love playing this game on an electronic dart board. With his vast knowledge of the game of darts, his thirst for technological innovation, and his desire to perfect the electronic dart board to take the game to the next level, Sam joined Arachnid 360, a leading manufacturer of electronic dart boards.
As a result, Sam has spent his entire career pioneering even more innovative techniques to take this game to the next level. By using the electronic dart board industry as a standard for the sport, this Illinois-based company continues to grow, staying at the top of its game with new technology, products, and a host of many other accessories. In doing so, Arachnid 360 continues to build upon and open new marketplaces throughout the world.
Today, Arachnid 360 is responsible for the manufacture and sale of electronic dart boards both nationally and abroad. Combines with developing and educating others on the art of playing darts, Sam and Arachnid 360 has helped develop leagues and tournaments for all to enjoy worldwide. This well-rounded company has a history of success, and it continues to strive for a better future.
Sam will also be the first to tell you that SBA and its resource partners continued to play an important role in the company’s growth. Among the help received, Arachnid 360 credits the ITC – Illinois SBDC at Champaign County EDC and the United States Export Assistance Center (USEAC) staffs. Arachnid 360 also received invaluable assistance obtaining an SBA Loan, a STEP Grant (in 2019 to attend shows in India and Dubai), and guidance from the Illinois Exportech program (Graduated in 2021).
As evidenced by its history, exporting is important to Arachnid 360 because it generates around 10-15% of its sales. It allows Arachnid 360 to employ more people for manufacturing game boards to salesman growing sales to operators and distributors who buy, sell, and maintain these electronic dart boards. Exporting is such a vital piece of the Arachnid 360 puzzle because it aids the company to continuously seek, renew and create new marketplaces from Spain to France to India to Australia to New Zealand to Japan to Canada.
