The Illinois Department of Public Health and Winnebago County Health Department continues to issue new precautionary guidelines in regard to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

To slow the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) into the United States, CDC is working with state and local public health partners to implement after-travel health precautions.

The Winnebago County Health Department is recommending social-distancing and hand washing as a way to slow the spread and protect those more at-risk of COVID-19.

“We want to do all we can to minimize the spread of this virus. Limiting public gatherings is a proven method of containing and minimizing the spread of disease. Here in Winnebago County, our priority is to limit public exposure and get back to normal public operations as quickly and safely as
possible,” said Dr. Sandra Martell, director of the WCHD.
