Floracracy Hosts Job Fair

HIGH-TECH FLOWER COMPANY HOSTS JOB FAIR, PREPARES FOR OFFICIAL ROCKFORD LAUNCH

Floracracy will host job fair on March 8, 2019, to hire individuals in the downtown community over the next few months for its new downtown warehouse

ROCKFORD, IL (March 4, 2018) – A new technology startup is launching in Rockford this spring, and it’s looking to hire in the downtown area. Floracracy is hosting a job fair on March 8 from 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the main Rockford Rescue Mission building at 715 W State, Rockford, IL 61102. This is the beginning of the hiring process for its new Rockford-based headquarters and warehouse. This facility will process, arrange, and package floral arrangements to ship nationally.

Prospective applicants should report to the “Work Center” entrance on Horsman Street. An introduction to the company and welcome from the CEO will take place at 10:30 a.m.

Floracracy is the first company in the multibillion-dollar US flower industry to offer customized floral arrangements online. It uses sophisticated, patent-pending software to create a curated design experience that’s complete with a real-time visual of the design being created. The
company’s investors include John Higginson, the former CTO of the publicly traded flower giant FTD. Rockford lawyer Jim Keeling also serves on its board. The company ran its test operations out of Chicago over the last year but began quietly moving its resources to Rockford starting in
January.

Floracracy is looking for individuals to make arrangements, handle plants, handwrite letters, assemble boxes, clean equipment, and package deliveries for shipment. Paid training is available and will be done on site. Prior experience with flowers or plants is helpful but not necessary. The company is specifically focused on hiring individuals that live in the downtown area or in the 61104 ZIP Code. Training will begin March 18, 2019.

“Rockford is an extraordinary city with an inspiring community that believes in the capacity for change,” says Floracracy founder Sarah-Eva Marchese. “We are excited to bring this spirit into our company through these Rockford hires. And we look forward to contributing in meaningful
ways to the positive momentum the city has.”
