Winnebago County Chairman Frank Haney has announced project “QuickStart” has reached a deal and will be moving ahead. Congratulations to all the organizations that have worked to make this win possible. The name of the company will be released at a later date.
Winnebago County, Illinois – “We got a deal,” said Chairman Frank Haney who received a call from developer Mark Goode this morning confirming that Project Quick Start is a go. The goal is to begin construction on the 675,000 square foot distribution facility as early as June 1.
“Together, with the airport and other key drivers, this is becoming an American logistics hub. Additionally, landing this expansion project means ensuring local growth as opposed to losing this opportunity to another region. This project means job growth and retention, as well as an increase to our tax base. In the short-term, this project will provide 100-120 construction jobs,” said Haney.
Haney deferred to the developer and end user for further comment but wanted to inform the County Board and community that this project was moving forward.
The County Board voted last Thursday 18-1 (one absent) to approve the development agreement. Today, the developer confirmed they reached an agreement with an end user.
