Chicago Rockford International Airport leases warehouse to new cargo carrier


With the new tenant at the Chicago Rockford International Airport cargo flights from ABX Air will begin Sept 9th.They will begin once daily and over the course of the next six months increase to five or six times daily.


RRstar-Rockford Register StarA Boeing 767 cargo jet will buzz in and out of Chicago Rockford International Airport each day beginning Sept. 9, and the freight operation will grow to two flights a day in October, three a day in November and up to five a day by the end of the year.

“Our expectation, based on what we’re hearing from the tenant, is that the cargo operation could grow even more in the new year,” Airport Executive Director Mike Dunn said.
