Everyone has an elevator pitch, that quick two-minute summary used when the opportunity to make a connection arises. Now the Rockford Area Economic Development Council (RAEDC) has one as well.
This at-a-glance marketing piece started as a way to promote the area at tradeshows and business development meetings and has evolved into a piece that can be found at area businesses and organizations. It concisely tells the story of the $1.5 billion of current investments and the accessibility of the Rockford Region by roads, rail and air. The front of the card displays the established industry clusters that can be found here, leading to the further development of supply chains within those clusters, while the back of the card provides information about investments, logistics and workforce development.
The panel card is a conversation starter being used by the RAEDC and our economic development partners to promote the area as part of the Rockforward20/20 strategic plan. A variety of methods are used to cultivate opportunities to generate capital investment, new and retained jobs, and new and renovated space in the area which lead to primary job growth.
The development of the panel cards began in 2015 when the RAEDC’s Leadership Council invested its Emerging Opportunities Funds in Business Attraction Marketing to increase capital investment in the Rockford Region primarily from the Chicagoland and Wisconsin markets.
The Emerging Opportunities Fund is designed for discretionary investment in mutually agreed-upon, forward-thinking initiatives that will leverage positive change for economic development of the Rockford Region.
Companies that are interested in displaying the panel card can contact the RAEDC at 815-987-8118 or email Information@RockfordIL.com for details.
