ROCKFORD, Oct. 27 — The YMCA of Rock River Valley has announced a future opening of a new location in Cherry Valley that was made possible by a gracious donation from Mr. Sunil Puri and his partner Dan Arnold. The pair donated a 15,500 square foot building valued at $2.25 million. The Puri Family YMCA will be located at 1475 South Perryville Road, Cherry Valley. This facility will offer many of the same amenities everyone loves at existing locations, including programs focused on healthy living, youth development and social responsibility. Mike Brown, CEO of YMCA of Rock River Valley said, “We recognized a need for our services in southeast Rockford and Cherry Valley. Mr. Puri is helping make our vision a reality.” The YMCA of Rock River Valley is one of the region’s oldest community organizations and serves over 48,000 people through wellness-focused programs and services.
