2015 Academy Expo: Experts needed for booths

2015 Academy Expo

ROCKFORD, June 17 — Alignment Rockford‘s Academy Expo continues to grow each year. The 2015 Academy Expo will host over 3,000 students from Rockford Public Schools, Belvidere, Harlem and Hononegah School Districts. Alignment Rockford also expects to have over forty booths for each of the four academies (BAMIT, EMITT, HPS, and HS).

Rockford students will use this experience to choose which academy path they want to take beginning January 2016. The expo supports efforts in the community to prepare students for college and career oriented futures.

According to Alignment Rockford’s website, 40 percent of students in attendance last year marked interacting with industry experts as “Excellent” and 92 percent of industry experts said they were interested in returning in 2015. They hope to see the same positive outcome this year according to their goals, which can be found here.

Industry experts are invited to have a booth at no charge at the expo. The booth should be interactive and hands-on so that students can get a better understanding of what your business does and the different career paths available. In the past, props have included live animals, medical equipment, a hydraulic lift, a semi truck, chemical experiements, an ambulance and fire truck, jet engine, and much more.

The 2015 Academy Expo is scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided, along with a booth, table, tablecloth and two chairs.
