Report: Illinois among top states in creating businesses

CHICAGO, June 19 — Illinois ranked No. 2 among states where businesses are being created the fastest, according to numbers released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The story, reported by Crain’s Chicago Business, said the number of business startups in Illinois jumped 4.7 percent to 421,908 businesses in the fourth quarter compared with a year earlier. Massachusetts was No. 1; its fourth-quarter number rose 5.6 percent to 236,091 businesses.
