May President’s Newsletter: Manufacturing is up, unemployment is down … and downtown Rockford is blooming

ROCKFORD, June 4 — The Rockford Area Economic Development Council has released the May President’s Newsletter to share important numbers/trends, project updates, RAEDC news and positive headlines you might have missed.

In April, momentum showed in the drop in unemployment to 5.8 percent, the lowest for that month since 2007. Data also showed that year to date, manufacturing is up 3.5 percent.

In regional development updates, there are at least four downtown Rockford successes to celebrate, including the Rockford Sharefest commitment to beautification.
