ROCKFORD, May 18 — The Rockford Register Star ran an article on Field Fastener’s dedication to promoting volunteer work that helps local communities and the greater good. Every “team member” (Field employee) has the option to take five paid days to volunteer at a legitimate nonprofit of their choosing. Because of this opportunity, Field team members have repeatedly volunteered for causes such as Sharefest and other local nonprofits that help the needy.

According to the article, only about 10 percent of employees have used the benefits regularly in the past, but there is a new project underway that Field believes will have every team member volunteering this year. Field is fully sponsoring a Habitat for Humanity home in Machesney Park and its employees are building the home.

Field’s HR Director, Tim Firm, is quoted on promoting volunteer work, “We are very committed to community involvement not only as a company, but with our team members getting involved as well. It’s benefit-designed to encourage our team members to get involved in the community and we believe this is a way to do it with no reservation about missing work or compensation or anything like that.”
