ROCKFORD, April 24 — The Rockford Register Star reported that OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center plans an $85 million expansion of its Rockford campus. Once approved by the Illinois Health Facilities and Review Board, this expansion will pay for a 144,247 SF, four-story wing to the building. The new wing will add new private rooms for medical and surgical beds, an additional location for some ambulatory services, space for a retail pharmacy, and be the new location for Women’s Services. Paula Carynski, president of OSF, is quoted over the addition of private rooms, “The other big drive is infection-control issues. To reduce the number of hospital-acquired infections, one of the great ways to prevent them is private rooms.”
