RAEDC attends Generis American Manufacturing Summit in Chicago

The Rockford Area Economic Development Council attended the Generis American Manufacturing Summit March 10-11 at Loew’s Chicago O’Hare.

Mark Podemski, vice president of development, also moderated a panel, “The Evolution of Manufacturing — Examining the Next Generation of Automated Production as a Driver to Shift Historical Beliefs in Global Footprint Optimization.”

Overall, the summit focused on key drivers of modern manufacturing and how technology is transforming it. The agenda covered cost management, lean manufacturing, talent management and innovative technology as drivers for operational excellence. It was the first expo organized by Generis, with about 200 leaders in attendance. It was organized to offer a more intimate, interactive setting for diverse business connections and learning.
