RAEDC’s Hall featured in effort to prepare youth for careers

Terrance Hall Staff ROCKFORD, March 7 — Terrance Hall of the Rockford Area Economic Development Council was featured in a WTVO-17 story about closing the youth unemployment gap.

Hall, who is also the local director of the Illinois SBDC International Trade Center, volunteers as the Economic Development Chair for the Wabongo Leadership Council. The organization, which promotes leadership, networking and community activism, is holding workshops to coach teens on career building, from resume writing to interviewing.

He was quoted as saying, “We know the level of unemployment in the black and Latino community is disproportionally higher in both of those communities. A couple of wrong decisions you get in a pattern, and it can really derail the direction you really want and should be going in your life.”

The RAEDC’s Joshua Patterson (second photo below) is also involved in the group.
