MACHESNEY PARK, Nov. 13 — Medical software business Practice Velocity, which employs 220 people, opened its $8 million, 63,000-square-foot office in the former Kohl’s space of Machesney Park Mall.
According to the Rockford Register Star story, Dr. David Stern said of the high ceilings, modern furniture, open-floor plan and natural light: “Our culture is very team oriented. There are no walls. You can see nearly every employee working in a large open space.”
Mike Nicholas, Rockford Area Economic Development Council, is hoping this big move will encourage other businesses to do the same, according to WIFR.
“The more jobs we create, the more primary jobs such as these jobs, then that brings along the retail trade that comes along with those jobs,” Nicholas said.
WREX reported that Practice Velocity considered moving to Wisconsin before ultimately deciding to stay in Illinois.
Practice Velocity serves more than 2,000 physicians in more than 1,000 urgent care centers across the nation.
