Guest column: Time to build on schools’ success

Brad Long, Rockford Area Economic Development Council Education Committee chairman, wrote a guest column in the Sunday, Nov. 2, Rockford Register Star to show support for the Rockford Chamber of Commerce’s endorsement of the Better Schools Brighter Future referendum.

He said: “Passage of the referendum could have a significant impact. Not only would it improve our education infrastructure, it also would create improved learning environments to prepare our future workforce and help our community retain and create quality jobs.

This is why the RAEDC, whose role is to enhance wealth creation in the region by helping employers retain and create quality jobs, identified education as a key driver to our economic future.”
