The Rockford Register Star published a Transform Rockford special section Oct. 26 that spotlighted the success in promoting aerospace careers in the region by helping coordinate internships and jobs with area companies. RVC is in the final year of a three-year Jobs and Innovation Accelerator Challenge grant. JIAC provides career mentoring through RVC, Northern Illinois University and JiET-A — the Joint Institute of Engineering & Technology Aerospace initiative, which was established as an outgrowth of JIAC in early 2012 in the midst of a national shortage of engineers, scientists and technicians.
