First Annual Rockford Day Festivities

Rockford Day logoPeople around the Rockford Region celebrated on August 15th for the first annual Rockford Day. There was a proclamation reading by Mayor Morrissey at 8:15 am, a Rock the Rock Live Lunch complete with an ice cream truck and buskers, and the afternoon unveiling of the mural on the Jefferson Street bridge!

Over 60 companies participated in Rockford Day with an 815 themed special offer. Many patrons found those offers so appealing they were gone long before the business closed for the day. There were also many free things people could do as part of the festivities throughout the community.

The day was organized by members of the Rockford Community Partners network, formerly known as the City of Rockford’s Economic Development. Education and Entrepreneurship Network (EDEEN).
